چکیده

The authors examined 60 children (91 eyes), aged 5 months to 17 years, with retinal detachment in the ROP course; 19 eyes were selected for the surgery, 5 eyes with the active ROP phase and 14 myopic eyes with the vitreo-retinal changes resulting from ROP. The segmental or encircling scleral buckling was performed in 19 eyes, in 4 eyes the vitrectomy and the endo-tamponade was used. In 12 eyes (63%) the retinal attachment was achieved, in 2 eyes in the active phase (40%) and 10 eyes (71.3%) with regressed ROP.

Retinopathy of Prematurity - Risk Factors for Evolution

Retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) is a disorder characterised by abnormal retinal vascular development, and several risk factors are involved. The condition may be in mild form or it may result in retinal detachment which may eventually cause blindness. The management of the risk factors involved in the disease etiopathogenesis and the treatment by laser photocoagulation performed in early stage...

Progressive Retinal Detachment in Infants with Retinopathy of Prematurity Treated with Intravitreal Bevacizumab or Ranibizumab.

PURPOSE Fibrovascular contraction and tractional retinal detachment (TRD) are recognized complications associated with the use of anti-vascular endothelial growth factor agents in vasoproliferative vitreoretinopathies. The authors characterize TRDs that developed after intravitreal bevacizumab or ranibizumab therapy for vascularly active retinopathy of prematurity. METHODS This is an internat...

Involution of Retinopathy of Prematurity

Main Outcome Measures: Investigators documented the location, extent, and severity of ROP during serial retinal examinations. The onset of the ROP’s involution was determined from a review of these data, applying a set of predetermined criteria. Results: Acute-phase ROP began to involute at a mean of 38.6 weeks postmenstrual age. In 90% of patients, the ROP began to involute before 44 weeks of ...
